Sommat else about Frenchness

My discovery of French Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was exciting enough to make it as a facebook status. However, when one of the questions was "conjugate this verb for first person conditional tense" it was promoted to blogworthy. I love the fact that this language is so mental, being able to spell as a native is valued at 10,000 €.

I think it was "Noyer". What be your verdict? (If you cheat you'll only be cheating yourself.)

Condition tense as in "conditionnel"? Ok, here goes:

Je me noie (if you meant I'm drowning)
or
Je noie (if I drown something)

...I think. I do hope Mrs. Fluckiger isn't looking *looks*

Two things:
1) Rubbish, I got the question wrong, it was more complicated than that. You have drawn attention to the fact I was being blasé in my blog. What other tenses are there?

2) Your teacher was called What?!

Um... je... um... NOYERAIS!!! I think. No?

Nathan, do you have a new ID or is this a new commentator...? I would guess by the chosen topic (and style of writing) that it is the former and you have just lost your sense of national identity. Also 'cause not that many people read my blog; I do know there are other Nathans out there.

-Spitfire, you did overlook the conditionnel I realise in your guess. Sorry.

-Potentially fellow Brit, I don't think there was a 'y' in the answer but that could be an error with remembering the question. I shall try and research but it could prove trop difficile.

So the new question is, what kind of Tense would produce an answer whereby the 4 options involve the potential doubling of two different consonants?
